EmailSentry™ V02 Installation Options

These are instructions for installing EmailSentry V02 for Outlook Classic (Classic Outlook for Windows). Instructions for Outlook (New Outlook for Windows) are at Installing EmailSentry V03.

Exit Outlook before doing any install or uninstall.

There are two options for installing EmailSentry V02:

Windows Installer (MSI)

ClickOnce application (setup.exe)

Windows Installer (MSI)

The MSI installation is the most commonly used method of installing EmailSentry. It works for individuals installing EmailSentry on their PCs and it works for organizations installing via an Office 365 Centralized Deployment.

Individuals install EmailSentry on their PCs by downloading EmailSentry.msi and then clicking to run it.

Organizations push the MSI to their users using Group Policy or System Center or any other PC management tool. These same PC managment tools can prevent users from uninstalling the Add-in, so users are forced to deal with "unsafe" email immediately.

The ProgID for EmailSentry is just "EmailSentry".

EmailSentry is installed as a Windows user, not as the Windows Administrator. It uses the following registry entries:
